Our focus is to promote life-long learning and ensure that everyone, everywhere can access higher education.We are looking for a Director of Employer Engagement to join Arden University and play an important role in enhancing our student experience. In this role, you will be responsible for building strong employer relationships that create valuable opportunities such as internships, pro bono work, knowledge exchange, and real-world assessments, all aimed at improving student employability and graduate outcomes.As the Director of Employer Engagement, you will work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders across the regional and national employment sectors. Your efforts will directly impact students’ readiness for the world of work and strengthen employer partnerships to support educational success.You will also collaborate with the Deputy Provost to achieve key performance targets related to student outcomes, employer engagement, and career development.What We’re Looking For:We are looking for someone with an academic background, that holds a PhD in leadership and management, and significant experience in employer engagement and pedagogy. You will also have a strong understanding of the connection between employers and curriculum development, as well as assessment strategies that enhance student learning.Key experience and qualifications include:

  • PhD in leadership and management with a strong record of teaching excellence.
  • Senior Fellowship of Advance HE (or willingness to work towards Principal).
  • Significant leadership experience in higher education, particularly in business or collaborative projects with employers.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with employers to design authentic assessments for undergraduate, postgraduate, and apprenticeship programmes.
  • Strong communication and diplomatic skills for working with diverse faculty, staff, and employers.
  • Ability to organise employer engagement workshops and promote activities that enhance the student experience.
  • Extensive experience in budget and resource management.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based strategies for promoting employer engagement and inclusive pedagogies.
  • Familiarity with TEF (Teaching Excellence Framework), NSS (National Student Survey), and Access and Participation Plan processes.
  • Understanding of technology’s role in education to support student success and employability.
