PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
This position is responsible for the accurate entry of contracted and tariff data to revenue systems while identifying and implementing process improvements to maximize efficiency. Through the adherence of SOX and Management controls, this position audits the accuracy of rating information entered in the system and monitors the operation of the billing systems. It develops and implements solutions to resolve billing issues and works with systems design teams to test and implement improvements and new features.
This position can be based in Winnipeg, Manitoba or Kansas City, MO.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Publishes signed contract and tariff rates within the CPKC systems (US/MX/CAN systems) while ensuring adherence to Delegation of Monetary Authority policy, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, Management Controls, and other policies.

In charge of exception worklist triage and resolution of rating errors on a daily basis within the rating engines for any of the commodity/business unit in US, MX or CAN systems.

Performs corrections of rating errors and change requests to resolve disputes and claims reported by the Revenue Accounting / Collections / Interine Settlement team for any of the commodities moved after approval received as needed; and/or directs other teams to make the appropriate changes. Drives for root cause resolution.

Reports revenue adjustments for the commodity/business unit when thresholds are met.

Reports and follows up on the commercial unrates with Sales & Marketing when in need of rate/commercial agreement published for any commodity/business unit needed.

Coverage for other commodity/business unit within CPKC as required and support of different projects/ short term initiatives.

Responsible of updating and publishing in CPKC systems CAN/US/MX previously approved and officially posted Surcharge Factors on the needed frequency.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job related major field of study

Minimum two (2) years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Strong analytical skills complemented by outstanding organizational capabilities

Effective written and verbal communication skills, with proven problem-solving abilities
-
Proven flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic, 24/7 operational environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Outlook, with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and systems

Railroad or Logistics or Transportation experience is an asset
-
Proficiency in English and Spanish is an asset

Management Conductor Program:
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC.
