Ashley is a successful secondary school for pupils with social communication difficulties and autistic spectrum condition age 11 – 19. The school offers excellent accommodation and specialist teaching areas. We are committed to high standards of achievement, both personal and academic.We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work for 32.5 hours per week to support the needs of all pupils in the school. Ideally we would like you to have experience of Autism/social communication and personal care. The successful candidate will have the ability to form positive relationships and adapt to the needs of the pupils.The ideal candidate will successfully strive for pupil success and be confident in using their knowledge and expertise to give feedback and encourage our young people to take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their own work and study. We are looking for an experienced teaching assistant who:

  • Passionate about children’s learning.
  • Flexible and professionally optimistic.
  • Will play an active part in the school teaching team.
  • Will maintain good relationships with children, staff and parents.
  • Have high expectations of children’s behaviour.
  • Can deliver a range of interventions.
  • Produce creative displays.
  • Have an overview of the expectations of the National Curriculum.
  • Are willing to contribute to the wider life of the school.
