Key responsibilities include overseeing the entire lifecycle of projects, from conceptualization to IND submission. This role involves working with and leading a team of researchers, providing scientific and organizational guidance, mentorship, and talent development. The Principal Scientist will stay abreast of cutting-edge developments in immunology, therapeutic modalities, and competitive landscapes, fostering a culture of continuous learning and expertise expansion. The ideal candidate holds a PhD with 8-10 years of relevant experience, demonstrating a strong track record of scientific innovation, particularly in Th2-associated biology. Effective communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, high-achieving environment.Work RequirementThis role will be based out of our Vancouver, BC office and is hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.Key Responsibilities
- Work with and direct a talented team of Immunology researchers to deliver an innovative and sustainable pipeline in Immunology, across a diversity of modalities, from inception through IND in autoimmune diseases.
- Supports development of immunology portfolio strategy and attainment of departmental scientific and pipeline goals and through managing research, people and resources.
- In collaboration with R&D PMO, coordinates cross-departmental activities to ensure strategic alignment, resource efficiency and timely delivery.
- Supports the evaluation and review of project plan and data.
- Keeps up to date with latest development in immunology (e.g. T cell, macrophage and NK biology, etc.), therapeutic modalities (e.g. multi-functional biologics, cytokines etc.), and competitive landscape.
- Supports the expansion of expertise and knowledge in Immunology research and biologic drug development within the department and across the discovery organization.
- Provides day-to-day scientific and organizational direction and support for the department. Mentors and develops talent, providing performance feedback, training opportunities, and exposure to new assignments.
Education and Experience
- PhD with 8-10 years of directly relevant research experience in immune oncology and/or immunology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proven track record of scientific innovation and accomplishment as evidenced by publications, patents, and conference presentations.
- Deep research expertise and extensive working experience in Th2-associated biology.
- Relevant biologic drug discovery experience from target discovery to IND.
- Well informed in Th2-associated autoimmune diseases, treatment landscape and therapeutic research/development trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Strong motivation, attention to detail, and ability to think independently and fully integrate into a high achieving team environment.
- Strong management and leadership skills and the ability to mentor and develop strong contributors.
- Ability to address complex scientific problems with practical research plan and efficiently execute and deliver.
- Ability to work independently and effectively on multiple programs and also collaboratively and productively in a dynamic team environment.
- A self-starter with strong scientific curiosity, creativity, and rigor, excellent analytic skills and high ethical standards.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canadian locations.
