HAUS CareersA bespoke London based studio is looking for a Midweight Interior and Furniture Designer who can blend furniture design with interior design skillsMiddleweight Interior and Furniture Designer for a Sophisticated and Inspirational London StudioPermanentSalary Guide: £36,000 – £40,000Quick Summary of this Middleweight Interior Designer RoleA central London based studio known for their warm, rustic but luxury residential and hospitality projects is looking for an all rounder interior designer with a strong background / experience in furniture design. This is a top 100 House and Garden studio made up of a team of up to 30 extremely talented designers. This permanent position would best suit a professional with a collected experience of 4-6 years across interior design and furniture design. This studio offers 1 day WFH, they use AutoCAD and is looking for strong 3D modelling software skills in solidworks, rhino or similar.Job Description for this Middleweight Interior Designer Role
- Conceptualize and create unique furniture, lighting, and accessories that align with the studio’s design ethos and fulfill client requirements.
- Develop detailed technical drawings, specifications, and prototypes for custom-made furniture pieces.
- Collaborate with the design team to seamlessly integrate furniture into overall design concepts and spatial layouts.
- Source and liaise with suppliers, artisans, and manufacturers to bring your design ideas to life.
- Ensure all furniture designs comply with industry standards, quality criteria, and sustainable practices.
- Stay current with industry trends, materials, and manufacturing techniques, promoting continuous innovation and improvement in our design offerings.
- Generate design concepts under the guidance of a senior designer, managing junior staff as needed.
- Assist in project running and project processes from concept and design development through to site implementation.
- Produce tender packages including architectural, joinery, and furniture drawings.
- Confidently oversee and maintain project schedules.
- This role would be for someone legally eligible to work in the UK
Skills Necessary for this Middleweight Interior Designer Role
- Excellent furniture design skills with the ability to bespoke design in 3D and 2D.
- Experience in high-end residential and hospitality projects.
- Versatility in supporting all stages of the design process, with the ability to adapt and be an all-rounder.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D modelling software (3DS Max, Rhino, or equivalent), Adobe Suite, SketchUp, and good hand sketching ability.
- Proactive character and a strong sense of initiative
- A genuine a passion for design.
- Must have a degree in Interior/ Furniture/ Product Design or equivalent.
