Long-Term teachers are recruiting on behalf of a fantastic secondary special school seeking a cover supervisor to provide crucial support. As a cover supervisor, you will manage classes using pre-prepared materials when the teacher is absent, with the potential to offer additional teaching assistant support when needed.The school offers high quality education for students aged 11 – 16, supporting a range of additional needs, primarily around social, emotional and mental health (SEMH). These students have previously struggled in mainstream settings, so your role is vital in helping them achieve both academic and personal growth.The ideal candidate will be fully committed to the school’s mission of making a meaningful difference in the lives of its students. Given the nature of the students, confidence in managing challenging behaviour and adaptability are key to success in this role.This opportunity is open to candidates from various backgrounds. Whether you’re an experienced teaching assistant seeking more responsibility, or a teacher who prefers to deliver pre-planned lessons without the additional burden of planning and paperwork, this could be the perfect fit for you.Key requirements:

  • Secondary school experience is preferred
  • Experience working with challenging behaviour is essential
  • Full time availability (Monday to Friday)
  • Patience, resilience, enthusiasm and flexibility
  • Confident in leading classes and managing challenging behaviour
  • Must be able to drive and have access to your own car
