Job title:

Postdoctoral Researcher

Company

University of Oxford

Job description

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Postdoctoral Researcher to carry out research investigating cortical organisation using MRI datasets. The project aims to develop and test new approaches to characterising the relationship between cortical structure and the arrangement of higher-order cognitive functions. The primary analytic approach will characterise features derived from cortical geometry. Applicants should be proficient in MRI data analysis and developing novel analytic tools.Specifically, this post holder will conduct two studies based on openly available data resources. The first will investigate covariation between cognitive measures and cortical geometry using a large-scale human MRI dataset. The second study will take a comparative neuroanatomy approach to investigate the link between cortical geometry and behaviour across mammalian evolution. This position is embedded within the European Research Council (ERC)-funded project ‘Cortical gradients of functional integration’. It is split between The Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging (WIN) at the University of Oxford, where this position is based, and the Integrative Neuroscience and Cognition Center (INCC) at the University of Paris. The post holder will have the opportunity to work across both groups and benefit from shared resources. Please see the below ‘Job Description’ for further details on the role, responsibilities, and selection criteria, as well as further information about the university and how to apply. This post is full time and fixed term for 14 months.Only applications received before midday 12:00 on Wednesday 16th October 2024 will be considered.Interviews will be held as soon as possible thereafter.£37,524 to £45,763 per annum
