Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of students who require additional learning support?GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a well-established school in Poole, Bournemouth, to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Special Educational Needs (SEN), or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is committed to helping students thrive and achieve their full potential. Part-time arrangements may also be considered for the right candidate.As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with special educational needs, assisting them both academically and emotionally. Your role will be vital in fostering a positive, inclusive environment that allows every student to succeed.Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with ASD, SEN, or SEMH needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
  • Support students in their academic work, helping them understand and engage with the curriculum.
  • Promote positive behaviour, social interaction, and emotional development.
  • Help students with personal care and daily routines as required.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to ensure continuity of education.
  • Monitor and track student progress and provide feedback to staff and parents.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting students with ASD, SEN, or SEMH needs is desirable.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to working with students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour and support emotional development.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
