Generally, employees are expected to work three or more days in-office each week with flexibility depending on their business, client and team needs.Job Description:What Is in It for You:The Derivative Collateral Analyst is part of a Derivatives back-office team that is responsible for all aspects of collateral management, global derivative trade operations, and counterparty risk analysis/reporting. The position will report to the Manager of Derivative Collateral.Reporting to the Manager of Derivative Collateral, the Derivative Collateral Analyst is part of the Derivatives back-office team that is responsible for all aspects of collateral management, global derivative trade operations, and counterparty risk analysis/reporting. The Derivative Collateral Analyst has a good understanding of counterparty credit risk, is knowledgeable with financial instruments and various types of derivatives, and possesses strong analytical skills. Collateral management is a major function within the team and the Analyst would be primarily responsible for the collateral call negotiation and settlement process and independently be able to manage it on a day-to-day basis.WHAT YOU WILL DO:Actively engage in the collateral management and negotiation process with counterpartiesProcessing margin calls on AcadiaMonitor and review Initial Margins for Uncleared Margin RegulationsInteracting with custodians for trade settlement issues and reconciliation inquiriesEngage in trade operations including system trade entryWork with Sun Life valuations team to independently value derivative instruments (swaps, forwards, credit derivatives, swaptions, etc) for MTM negotiation with counterpartiesReview, reconcile, and validate derivative valuations and collateral amounts with counterparties when disputes ariseComplete collateral-related accounting entries and reconciliation to the general ledgerMonitor counterparty credit ratings and update collateral agreements within system accordingly when rating changes occurPerform collateral sensitivity analysis to assess impact of market changes on derivative portfolio and resultant collateral requirements changeManage collateral coupons and oversee all receipts and payments with the counterpartiesSettle monthly interest with counterparties on cash collateral positionsPrepare various routine collateral-related reporting deliverables for managerial, analytical, and financial reporting purposes as well as handle ad hoc info requestsSupport audit requests from both internal/external auditors when engagedWHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED?University Degree in Finance/Mathematics/Economics3+ years of experience in derivatives collateral management, or derivatives operations with counterparty interfacesEnrollment in, or completion of, CFA/FRM program is an assetHighly proficient in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of BlackRock Aladdin and Bloomberg applicationsExcellent verbal & written communication skills; proven judgement around escalated communicationsDetail-oriented, multi-tasking and managing task prioritization within tight timelinesStrong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skillsWhy SLC Management?
