This esteemed school caters to children and adults of secondary school age with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and other complex or anxiety-related conditions that may also present with challenging behavior. Some students have multiple learning disabilities.Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons: Teach subjects to GCSE level with a focus on Science or IT.
  • Individualized Support: Tailor educational plans to meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH and other complex needs.
  • Student Development: Support students academic and personal growth through personalized Education, Health, and Care (ECH) Plans.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to prepare for Personal Education Plan (PEP) and Looked After Children (LAC) reviews.
  • Behavior Management: Implement effective strategies to manage and support students with challenging behavior.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in SEN education.

Requirements:

  • PGCE, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognized teaching qualification.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with Key Stage 4 students with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
  • Specialism: A background in Science or IT is preferred, but other subjects will be considered.
  • Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
