Overview
Performs technical tasks required to produce content in a variety of forms (print, digital, multimedia, etc.). Ensures readability and acceptability of resources for the intended target audiences. Edits for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style. Verifies biblical and factual accuracy of resources. Ensures assigned products meet the highest legal and ethical standards.

This is a remote position in the U.S. with occasional travel to Nashville for in-person team gatherings. #LI-Remote
Responsibilities
- Edits content according to style and branding guidelines for readability and acceptability; correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation; and verification of content accuracy, and copyfitting. Performs quality assurance and proofing tasks.
- Converts files into InCopy stories
- Manages the Groups Matters blog by creating a schedule of posts and providing it to the providers of content. Uploads blog posts after editing.
- Contacts assigned churches via phone or email to strengthen relationships, curate information about church practices, and to inform church leaders about changes to products or new product offerings.
- Oversees product records retention. Maintains systems that support the work of the production team such as bound copies, manuscripts, and proofs.
- Maintains an understanding of the target audience and current church needs by participating in opportunities for personal contact with individual church leaders.
- Loads and applies style sheets and tags.
- Exports files of one format to another format.
Qualifications
Minimum Education Required:
Associate or Technical in English, journalism, communications, or related publishing field
Years of Experience Required:
2 Technical
1 Publishing that includes print, digital, and multimedia
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:
Familiarity with the LifeWay Style Manual and Chicago/AP Stylebook (or a similar resource).
Excel in detail editing to assure there are no errors in resources (including quote verification, proper footnote documentation, and checking Web links for appropriate content).
Proficiency in the computer programs required to complete assigned tasks.
Teamwork and relational skills to work with others on tasks.
