Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a Cost Accountant. This critical Cost Accountant role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also work closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team to establish customer pricing. • Updating and controlling cost standards, rates, units of measure, reconciliations, and inventory valuation.
• Reviewing job costs, comparing actuals vs. standards, and accounting for unusual transactions.
• Completing project cost and margin variance analysis.
• Preparing internal and external financial costing statements and reports.
• Monthly inventory and COGS valuation in financial statements.
• Monthly cost analysis and delivering reports to internal and external stakeholders.
• Reporting divisional margin, project/customer profitability, and estimated vs. actual cost analysis.
• Comparing factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services.
• Lead and develop the physical inventory process and monitor the cycle count program.
• Stay updated on cost accounting procedures and their impact on financial statements.
• Generating ad hoc reports as needed.

• 5-10+ years of accounting experience.
• University Degree or College Diploma required.
• Professional Accounting Designation (CPA – CA) considered an asset
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with a solid cost systems background required
• Experience with integrated accounting software and ERP systems.
• Direct exposure to inventory measurement, reporting, and processes.
