Our client, a long-established Canadian insurance, retirement and benefits provider are searching for a Benefits and Estates Administrator to join their Toronto team. The Benefits and Estates Administrator is responsible for overseeing the administration and settlement of life insurance and other related claims, specifically related to Estates. The incumbent acts as a liaison between claimants, beneficiaries, and internal departments to ensure accurate processing and settlement.Key Responsibilities:Estates Administration:
· Serves as the primary contact for notifications, verifying eligibility and financial benefits.
· Gathers and reviews required documentation, collaborates with legal counsel and internal departments to resolve complex estate issues, and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
· Prepares detailed worksheets for payment processing and maintains accurate records of all settled, pending, or open Estate claims.
· Communicates with Estate executors, beneficiaries, and other representatives to clarify claim requirements and answer inquiries.
Staff Benefits Administration:
· Assists in managing benefit plans by processing employee eligibility, verifying premium rates, and updating employee records.
· Coordinates medical underwriting and handles communication of underwriting decisions.
· Provides support to the help desk for complex eligibility and billing queries, ensuring accurate resolution of issues.
Disability Claims Support:
· Acts as backup for disability claims processing, including payment issuance and medical record management.
· Assists the Benefits Assistant with routine inquiries and supports complex cases, escalating issues as needed.
· Facilitates transitions to Long-Term Disability (LTD) and manages annual eligibility checks for life waiver benefits.· 2 years of experience in insurance administration or a related field.
· Knowledge of Estate settlement and benefit processes.
· Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
· Experience with legal documentation and Human Resources concepts is preferred.
