Applications are invited for the role of Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Bioinformatics to work in the Epigenetics of Haematopiesis lab in Manchester. The post will involve dealing with multi-omic data analysis and storage, focusing particularly on data from single/bulk cell RNA/DNA/epigenome analysis. Tasks range from low-level QC and mapping through to statistical analysis, data visualization, machine learning and biological interpretation. The post-holder will also help develop tools and workflows, contribute to experimental design prior to data collection and will contribute to writing up work for journal papers and presentations. There will also be opportunities to contribute to training and education activities e.g. through attendance at courses, workshops and conferences.The successful applicant will have, or be about to obtain, a PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline and must be familiar with high-throughput sequencing data analysis methods. Experience of programming in a language relevant for Bioinformatics is essential (e.g. R, Python, C/C++ or Java) as are good communication skills. You should also have good recording and curation skills to enable high project throughput. Candidates with strong statistical data analysis skills are particularly encouraged to apply.The post holder will be based at the Paterson Research Building in Manchester. The role will be highly collaborative; it will involve working together with colleagues across cancer sciences.What you will get in return:
