  • Housekeeper Supervisor

Purpose

The Housekeeper ensures that ICRC premises are clean.
 

 

Accountabilities & Functional responsibilities

Provides cleaning/housekeeping/laundry services at ICRC premises.
 Informs his/her supervisor about any issues regarding the premises (materials needed to carry out duties, malfunctioning equipment, damaged furniture or Premises, etc.).
Supports the Technical Worker/s in carpentry and electrical activities in a variety of manual tasks.

HOUSEKEEPING:

Every Day

Complete cleaning of all offices: dust cleaning, vacuum cleaner ,cleaning floors
Emptying garbage baskets
Complete cleaning of the kitchen (sink, electrical boilers, mirrors, counter, surface of the stove, etc.)
Complete cleaning of bathroom and toilettes
Wiping staircase
Washes the glasses of the tea from time to time.
 To clean door handles
Controls gas in the kitchen
Clean the floor, telephone, copier and disks.
Replacing soap and toilet paper if necessary
Prepare tea or coffee as per the request.
Maintain the stock of cleaning items and refurnish the stock upon needs.
Take care of the water reserves and make Sure the water is always available in the water dispensers
Prepare hot water for the coffee breaks

Once a Week

To clean all offices and carpets more in details
To clean kitchen more in detail (inside fridge, cooker, stove, etc.)
To clean in high places (top of cabinets, etc.) and under the beds
To wash towels
To clean windows and doors
To wash curtains
To clean fridges.
To clean doors.

Twice a week

To clean the ICRC emblems
To clean the solar panels
To clean the roof top
To clean the parking area
To clean the Emergency food Stock
To clean the premises stock
To clean the balconies
To clean the basement
To clean doors and door handles
To clean fire extinguishers

Once a Month

To clean fridge/freezer completely from ice
To move all movable furniture in order to clean behind the furniture
To move cooker, fridge and all other movable furniture in the kitchen and to clean behind
To wash out kitchen cupboards with detergent
To clean window fans and ceiling fans
To clean fire exits

 

Every six Months

To wash curtains
To clean carpets
To clean duvet and bedspreads

When needed

Prepare the meeting room and Ata Hall as per the request.
In addition to report any problem (broken or missing items) to Administration.
Replaces other housekeepers (in residences or delegation) during absences.

  • Internally, interacts with other ICRC employees and/or the users of ICRC premises.
  • No external relationships.

Certifications / Education required

  • Primary school education.
  • Basic knowledge of English.

Professional Experience required

  • Similar work experience desirable.
  • Knowledge of basic hygiene principles.
