Instructional Administrator Position Description
Job title: Instructional Administrator
Time Commitment: Full-Time /Contractor/Consultant ( ~35 hrs/week)
Position Description:
The instructional administrator will serve as a liaison between the BECA Pedagogy Board Committee and BECA teachers in BECA schools to ensure alignment and coordination of the development, implementation, and monitoring of our academic programs.
Duties:

Deliver coaching, professional learning, observation & feedback to teachers and administrators

Support the annual review and implementation of the BECA mission and vision;

In liaison with the school directors, partners, pedagogy committee and BECA staff provide the overarching pedagogical strategy for immediate and future BECA needs.

Support the development and support of BECA Administrators to act in their capacity as instructional leaders;

Regularly meet with teachers to provide support as they plan units, examine assessments and student data, and provide feedback on instruction and curriculum design;

Conduct classroom walkthroughs to provide observational data on implementation of curricular programs;

Lead bi-annual reading/English assessments of all students, co-develop intervention and support strategies with teachers for their students, report data to BECA Program Manager and BECA Pedagogy Board Committee

Develop annual teacher professional development training schedule with supporting lesson plans and materials aligned with teachers’ diverse background and experience.

Develop and lead regularly scheduled instructional professional development sessions for whole group, small group or individual teachers; including summer training and late arrivals.

Inform curriculum review processes alongside BECA Pedagogy Board Committee;

Openly support and follow by all school policies and procedures;

Complete other duties as assigned by the BECA Program Managing Director and BECA Pedagogy Board Committee.

Attend school meetings with admins as the BECA representatives.
Commitment:
-
5 days per week
-
On site at SMBS and SJBS
-
Days off following school holidays
-
Some evenings or weekend work may be required to provide teacher professional learning outside of school hours
-
Full time support for leading and developing summer training, late arrivals and onboarding
-
Approximately 40 hours per week for 2 weeks in July and 2 weeks in August

Alongside BECA Admins and BECA Pedagogy Committee, design, implement, facilitate and delegate teacher training and onboarding sessions for new and returning faculty
Requirements:
-
Fluent in English and Spanish
-
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
-
Minimum 3+ years of k-9 teaching experience
-
Experience leading adult learning and professional development experiences for educators in multiple modalities (in-person, online, asynchronous, etc)

Experience and knowledge of k-9 curriculum and instructional practices
-
Excellent interpersonal skills, facilitation skills, and communication skills
-
Ability to motivate and collaborate with other teachers and leadership team members
-
Results-oriented, with demonstrated skill in using data to inform and improve student learning and school programs
-
Self-motivated, energetic, and creative
-
Ability to give, receive, and grow and learn through feedback is essential
-
Knowledge and experience in research-proven instructional strategies
-
Technology expertise, with a strong understanding of the role of technology in 21st century learning environments
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Instructional coaching or leadership in a formal role in a K-9 setting
Note:
Housing for this role is provided with all utilities covered in Cofradia, Cortes, Honduras. If the candidate chooses to commute from outside of Cofradia that is also acceptable.
Salary Range:
$800-1200/month depending on experience
