You will work on one of the most exciting and significant sustainable energy projects that our country has ever seen, being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Sizewell C is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for at least 60 years.We’re recruiting for students to join our Engineering Industrial Placement programme at our Moorgate office (London).Taking on a real job at a junior level, you’ll have the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience under the guidance of highly skilled and experienced colleagues.What we’re looking for
- Discipline in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Instrumentation and Control.
- A genuine interest in the energy industry and a passion for sustainability and being a part of making a difference.
- We will need you to be open minded, flexible and have an agile way of thinking to succeed in a dynamic fast paced project environment.
- Having a strategic mindset that brings innovative ideas.
- Effective interpersonal skills are key, as well as being able to demonstrate high ethical behaviour, integrity, humility, and character.
- Effective communication skills will be required to manage your stakeholders whilst prioritising competing demands.
Training, development, and support for youOver the course of this 12-month programme, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in hands-on learning, working on real-world challenges that directly impact the energy industry. Most of your learning will be on the job, supported by your mentor and the teams around you. You’ll have a chance to apply your academic training to genuine industry problems while completing modules that contribute towards your degree.Previous students on a Engineering Industrial Placement have been involved in projects such as:
- Supporting improvements to safety through communications campaigns, training, and other improvement projects.
- Looking at how radiation protection supports the building and operational life of new power stations; developing the skills necessary to support a wide range of teams to provide advice on radiation protection.
- Assisting in running, maintaining, and developing the condition monitoring programme throughout a plant.
