The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) is looking to appoint a Professor in Clinical Psychology. With long standing, close links with the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, our research continues to fundamentally change and shape the understanding of mental illness and neurological disorders, leading to novel therapies and approaches to health and wellbeing. We would welcome you to be a part of that journey.Our unique collaborations include the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre at Maudsley that provides a unique environment to translate insights from discovery science into clinical care and the new Pears Maudsley Centre (PMC) which is a £90m state-of-the-art hub for mental health research focused on children, adolescents, young adults and their families. The IoPPN has three schools, with over 1000 academic and research staff, and more than 4000 under and post-graduate students, making us the largest centre for mental health research and education in Europe. IoPPN research was recognised for our world leading research environment and 100% research impact (REF 2021).We seek a clinical researcher who can complement departmental and faculty activity, particularly in relation to the treatment of disorders involving anxiety, depression, psychosis and bipolar disorder. The post is based in the Psychology Department, part of the School of Mental Health and Psychological Sciences (MHaPS). The postholder will not only contribute to our research but will also be active in education, contributing through occasional lectures and providing research project supervision and personal tutorship to our students across our degree courses, and particularly those in the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. The postholder will have access to PhD funding opportunities.Bringing an internationally recognised research programme and Principal Investigator experience relevant to mental/neurodevelopmental disorders, the appointee will demonstrate impact through their work, be collegiate, progressive, and interdisciplinary by nature.
