You’ll start on a salary of £33,000, with a welcome bonus and a Temporary Accommodation Allowance for those moving more than 40 miles for the role.You will be provided with a wealth of development opportunities in both virtual and applied working environments. Throughout the programme you will receive coaching and support from your team to achieve your objectives as well as your personal development goals. We are committed to developing our graduates into leading technical or business professionals, and as such we will also support you through your preferred route for chartership.Most training will be delivered via on-the-job experience work on real production hardware within projects groups delivering sensor systems to our customers. Additional formal technical training to augment the on-the-job training will be provided via taught courses depending on the business needs and your career direction. Self-directed learning is actively supported.As a Graduate RF / Microwave Engineer you will:Develop lifelong skills in microwave and RF circuit design, working on frequencies up to 40GHz, with mentorship from world-class experts in the field ensuring high performance and reliability, ensuring compliance with system specifications and safety and environmental standardsUse state-of-the-art simulation and modelling tools to design products such as transmit/receive modules (TRMs), up/down converters, antennas, filters as well as highly integrated RF and digital boards.Contribute to the design and development of key components in high-performance avionic sensor systemsTest and assess designs in our well-equipped laboratories and anechoic chambers, ensuring robust performance in extreme environmental conditions for long-term useCollaborate with cross-disciplinary teams – mechanical, systems, test and manufacture – to ensure seamless integration of RF and microwave components into larger systemsPrepare technical documentation and present findings to internal and external stakeholdersContribute to technical reviews. Your role may even take you across the UK or abroad for technical reviews.Support continuous improvement initiatives for hardware design processes and methodologiesWhat we need from you:We are looking for graduates who are enthusiastic about hardware design and eager to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Minimum of a 2:2 Bachelor’s, Integrated Masters degree, or higher degree (MSc or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline. For the Graduate RF/Microwave Engineer role, the preferred degrees are: Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Communications Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mathematical Sciences, Physics and MathematicsStrong interest in microwave and RF design, with basic familiarity with design tools like CST, HFSS, ADS or similar being desirable but not required as training will be providedStrong problem-solving abilities, with excellent communication skills and a desire to work collaboratively in a team.
