Research Associate (1.0fte) Visible Difference researchAbout us:is looking to appoint a fixed term (12 months) full time Research Associate (1.0fte) to join a team of researchers on a programme of work, funded by , which involves collaborations with a group of charitable organisations that support people living with visible differences (altered or unusual appearances) of any kind, such as skin conditions, birthmarks, scars from burn injuries, craniofacial conditions, hair loss, and facial palsy. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated early career researcher with an interest in psychosocial research related to visible difference. CAR has a been a world leader in visible difference research for more than 25 years, and it is the world’s largest group of researchers focussing on psychosocial issues around appearance and body image.We are looking to appoint a researcher who shares our passion and enthusiasm for visible difference research. They will be working within a team of experienced researchers who are conducting a programme of research around two themes: 1) supportive interventions for people with visible differences; 2) social media and visible difference. The successful applicant will be involved in a range of activities which could include literature searching, recruitment, data collection, data management and analysis, transcription, supporting meetings with key stakeholders, and dissemination.This post is based at our lively campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed.We are one of the largest providers of Higher Education in the South West with 38,000 students and 4,000 staff from right across the globe.
