As the, Senior Manager, Performance Management & Analytics , you lead and oversee performance measurement and analysis in support of a multitude of key stakeholders and executives across the Bank. You are responsible for effective data management including timely delivery of business performance reports and analysis.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

• Develop and automate, in close coordination with IB Retail and IB Analytics, monthly/quarterly management reporting, Executive dashboards, key risk indicators (KRIs) and key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring alignment to the Operating Model Design requirements and strategic plan, providing relevant reporting/dashboards, insights and action plans to ensure portfolio health.

• Oversee data integrity and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual IB Insurance reporting, including working with the Retail IB Team responsible for managing operational and administration activities centered around Business Reporting. Seeks opportunities to enhance processes and identifies continuous improvement opportunities to streamline processes through enhancements to policies and procedures and supports the data and reporting requirements for key collateral protection program strategic initiatives and solutions in conjunction with key stakeholders.

• Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout the team by deepening stakeholder relationships and contributing as a Centre of Expertise for performance analysis and reporting and plays a key liaison role with Strategic Business partners. Leverages process and technology improvements to drive efficiencies with managerial data for effective problem solving and accountability across the team.

• Routinely monitor Performance Management & Sales results utilizing available reporting (e.g. Weekly & Monthly Sales Reports, Counselor/Sales Platform, Scotia Protect, among others)

• Work with Bank’s Insurance Partners in the Region to develop and implement insurance data sharing interfaces to manage effectively relevant Insurance data, identifying and providing requirements to ensure system, process, reporting and program enhancements are developed to improve program effectiveness in a safe manner.

• Develop customer and portfolio insights and management information focused on effectively managing in partnership with key stakeholders i.e. Retail Products, Analytics, Digital Factory, Credit Risk, Business Support and Insurance Partners

• Foster and maintains collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including senior leaders in the countries to support the achievement of deliverables and overall objectives in addition to maintaining regular communications with internal stakeholders and insurance companies.

• Contribute to the effective development and roll-out of strategic projects by actively participating in cross-functional project teams with departments in Toronto and across IB. Responsible for completing project plan deliverables in a timely manner, representating IB Insurance at regular project team meetings (contributing actively to decisions and communicating deliverables, issues and commitments to the various stakeholders)

• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

• Create an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

• Bilingual English – Spanish is essential.

• Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence others at a more senior level without having any direct authority.

• Strong project management skills and effective execution skills to ensure a successful delivery / implementation of initiatives.

• Strong understanding of management reporting principles; ability to sustain a broad-based knowledge of the Bank’s and Global Operation’s strategies, and propensity for systems and MIS tools in support of analytic thinking.

• Bachelor’s degree from a credited higher education institution with major in Data Sciences, Analytics, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Business or Finance, with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.

• Master’s degree/ Post graduate qualification in Analytics, Computer Sciences, Business or a Finance related field are highly desired

• Thorough knowledge of the performance management process and techniques for life and general insurance solutions.

• Strong mentoring, negotiating and motivational skills.

• Strong leadership, problem-solving and communication skills (oral & written).

• Strong ability to work independently and balance the needs and demands of the field and the Head Office teams across the region.

• Comprehensive Knowledge of financial markets across the region

• Thorough understanding of Data Management

• Demonstrated ability to influence other coworkers in the absence of a formal reporting relationship

• Good working knowledge of the regional insurance and banking framework

• Experience in Data Warehousing / Data Visualization and programs such as Power BI is required.

• Excellent computer skills, word processing, spreadsheets, SQL and SharePoint are required.

• Good working knowledge of the operational processes of Scotiabank across the region

• Excellent group presentation skills.
