Job Description:OverviewAt KPMG, you’ll join a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connected by a common cause: turning insight into opportunity for clients and communities around the world.As part of the Finance Reporting team, the Senior Analyst will organize financial data using SQL Server and prepare management reports using Power BI and Excel. They will also communicate with internal clients across the country to discuss new reports and answer business questions.
What you will do
- Data Management (15% of time):
- Design, develo, and administer SQL Server databases
- Use ETL processes to transfer, cleanse, and assimilate data
- Identify data discrepancies
- Report Creation (60% of time):
- Create dashboards and reports in Power BI
- Create financial reports and ad hoc analyses in Excel
- Write SQL queries to import data into Power BI and Excel
- Review reports to ensure accuracy
- Collaboration (20% of time):
- Demonstrate newly created reports to end users
- Work with internal clients to answer their business questions
- Work with other Finance Reporting team members to solve problems and discuss improvements
- Learning (5% of time):
- Research data management and data visualization best practices
- Enhance SQL Server, Power BI, and Excel skills
- Learn about the business and its reporting challenges
What you bring to the role
- 1-2 years experience in financial analysis
- Post Secondary Education or Undergraduate degree in business, finance, accounting, or data science
- Strong communication skills
- Analytical problem-solving mindset
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience writing SQL queries
- Experience creating Power BI reports and creating measures in DAX
