Role Description:We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist with a background in gas and power trading to join our Commercial team. The successful candidate will leverage data-driven insights to shape business decisions and drive operational excellence through advanced analytics and predictive modelling. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the analysis of large, complex datasets to derive actionable insights that drive critical business decisions
  • Design and deploy predictive models to optimise trading strategies and refine market forecasting within the gas and power domains
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and deliver high-quality, data-driven solutions
  • Apply the latest advancements in data science and machine learning to enhance trading performance
  • Clearly communicate data-driven insights to stakeholders, supporting strategic decision-making

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in data science, with a strong preference for experience in the gas and power trading industry
  • Strong academic background in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to address complex, high-stakes challenges
  • Proficiency in Python and advanced data science applications
  • Expertise in machine learning algorithms and data visualisation tools
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience in cross-functional and fast-paced environments
