If you can act as technical authority to colleagues and customers alike, we’re interested to talk to you.This company offers a comprehensive and trusted product range across seed, fertiliser, forage additives and agchem.Supporting feed specialists, agronomists, commercial teams and customers on farm, you will technical advice and commercial guidance to ensure regional business objectives are achieved.The role will be homebased with an extensive presence on farm, at shows and other industry events.While the focus will be on technical and commercial support of the wider team, there will be an element of crop walking. An existing ledger would be an advantage, but not essential.Key responsibilities:
- Work with feed specialists to achieve budgeted sales targets by supplying the necessary technical input to maintain existing and develop new business.
- To advise on and deliver a range of analytical services ie. soil, forage and slurry testing.
- Where appropriate develop a hands on approach with customers by walking crops, walking livestock and inspecting forages.
- Provide local feed team members with technical advice on correct use and application of the Forage Product range.
- To be accountable in the core product areas of Seed, Fertiliser and Additives.
- Drive marketing campaigns within allocated Southern region
- Development of Forage Skills and knowledge within the local team
- Representing the forage business on matters technical at team meetings and at local shows and events
- Maintain necessary professional qualifications (BASIS and FACTS).
- Use of CRM to develop and optimise further sales opportunities and aid the communication process.
Your profile:
- Grassland BASIS and / or FACTS qualified
- Degree in agriculture, agronomy or a related discipline.
- Experience within a forage role
- Excellent eye for detail
- Sales skills
- Ability to mentor and develop other professionals
