A senior postdoctoral position is available for an ambitious individual to characterise direct write lithographic approaches to nanoscale devices in the Department of Materials with Prof David J. Lewis, Chair of Materials Chemistry and Head of Department, associated with a £1.7M EPSRC project, working with teams in the Departments of Chemistry (Prof Winpenny) and Electronic and Electrical Engineering (Dr Boland) at the University of Manchester. The senior postdoctoral assistant will also assist in day to day supervisorial activities for Lewis’ wider group of diverse PhD and MSc students, including project supervision, health and safety, and assistance with the drafting of manuscripts.The successful applicant will support synthesis and characterisation efforts toward sustainable high-resolution routes to nanofabrication of nanoscale semiconductors. A world leading team of physicists, chemists, engineers and materials scientists has been assembled and the outcomes will be multiple breakthroughs in manufacturing that will enable large scale manufacturing of semiconductor devices at resolutionsApplicants must have a PhD in an appropriate area of physics, chemistry or a related discipline and experience in electron microscopy and lithography with electron and/or ion beams.
