This position is an integral part of the procurement team and will be responsible for small to medium-size and complexity sourcing and contracting initiatives. In this role you will develop sourcing strategies, coordinate supplier selection and lead contract negotiations consistent with an overall category strategy and business unit objectives. In this role, you will also collaborate with category managers and providing business intelligence to enhance data driven business decisions to achieve our goalsPosition Responsibilities :Lead cross-functional teams to execute on low to medium value/complexity sourcing projects and contracting effortsSupport strategic sourcing projects following a 7-step sourcing methodologyDetermine sourcing strategy and conduct analysis and negotiationsInfluence requirements from business partners necessary to evaluate and select suppliersConduct baseline and market analysis, develop sourcing strategy and conduct contract negotiationsConduct benchmarking and opportunity assessmentCreate presentations which highlight relevant business process inefficiencies and opportunities for improvementCreate presentations for executive leadershipSuggest and make changes in existing processes and metrics to increase efficiency & effectivenessEngage with stakeholders to increase data driven decision makingProvide sourcing thought leadership and day-to-day oversight of resource activitiesManage relations with key business partners and project owners to develop/maintain strong working relationshipsSupport vendor managers in execution of business led initiatives as necessaryOther duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:Post graduate degree (business/ analytics preferred)5+ years of progressive business experience in consulting and/or global supply chain management and/or sourcing and procurementGood knowledge of sourcing and procurement fundamentals and best practicesGood knowledge of data analysisExperience in developing operational strategiesAdvanced MS Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint skillsExperience with sourcing and procurement systems and toolsSolid analytical and problem-solving skillsPreferred QualificationsExcellent presentation and report writing skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently as well as cross-functionally, comfortable with multi-taskingFamiliar with Manulife’s business operations, strategies, and financial environment#LI-HybridAbout Manulife and John HancockManulife Financial Corporation is a leading international financial services provider, helping people make their decisions easier and lives better.
