Outreach Tutor – SEN/SEMH (Redbridge)Are you a dedicated and passionate individual with experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges? GSL Education is seeking a compassionate Outreach Tutor in Newham to provide tailored educational support to students outside of traditional classroom settings.Role Overview:As an Outreach Tutor specialising in SEN/SEMH, you will work with students who may find mainstream education challenging due to their additional needs. This role involves delivering one-on-one or small-group tuition in various settings, helping students overcome educational barriers and achieve their full potential.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised educational support to students with SEN/SEMH in a range of settings, such as their homes or community spaces.
- Develop tailored learning strategies to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring they stay engaged and motivated.
- Work closely with families, schools, and other professionals to monitor student progress and adapt tutoring approaches as needed.
- Support students in managing behavioural and emotional difficulties, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Help students build confidence, independence, and essential life skills alongside their academic development.

Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with SEN/SEMH or in a support/care role.
- A strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by students with SEN/SEMH, and the ability to tailor learning strategies to meet their needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and child protection. Successful candidates must pass all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS check on the update service.
