Job PurposeJoin a leading School of Social and Political Sciences to work on the Horizon Europe-funded (RIA Research and Innovation Action) You-DARE (Debunking the Gendered Arguments of Far-Right Extremism) project (as part of the UK-based team). This role offers an outstanding opportunity to contribute to a major project exploring the gender discourses and practices of far-right youth groups and leaders, and their normalisation in the mainstream, across 8 European countries. You will be a key part of a broader project team involving 5 Universities, playing a pivotal role in data collection, analysis and the production of research and knowledge exchange outputs. Together we will work to understand how far-right youth ideas inform public/political debates and impact on democracy, and to generate tools and policy recommendations minimising the appeal of such ideas. In particular, you will collect and analyse data on two of the 8 case studies: France and Italy. The main working language will be English but the postdoctoral researcher will collect/analyse data in French and in Italian.Main Duties and Responsibilities:Perform the following activities in conjunction with the Principal Investigator (PI) as appropriate:1. Take a leading role in the planning and conduct of assigned research in accordance with the project objectives.2. Survey the research literature and environment, understand the theoretical and practical challenges associated with the project and subject area, and develop/implement suitable research strategies.3. Conduct primary research to support the project, and undertake analysis and interpretation of all data, maintain records and databases, and draft progress reports and papers as appropriate.4. Write up research findings/outcomes for publication in leading academic journals and the media for dissemination as well as policy briefs/reports and research reports.5. Work collaboratively with project partners to enhance research impact in terms of economic/societal benefit and identify opportunities for knowledge exchange.6. Present work effectively to a range of academic and non-academic audiences, including at international and national conferences, seminars and workshops.7. Take a leading role in developing and maintaining collaborations with colleagues across the project and wider community.8. Take a leading role in organising and managing team/group meetings and activities to ensure the effective running of the project.9. Perform administrative tasks related to the activities of the project/School.10.
