In the School of Veterinary Medicine, you will have the opportunity to work with a collaborative team of researchers conducting cutting-edge research in molecular and cellular medicine and experts from world class veterinary institutes.We are currently recruiting for an exciting new lectureship in the field of cellular metabolism. You will join a team of fellow professionals within the School of Veterinary Medicine committed to providing excellence in research and teaching.About the roleWithin the School of Veterinary Medicine, you will join the Section of Molecular and Cellular Medicine within the Department of Comparative Biomedical Sciences. We are recognised for our expertise in molecular and cellular research, specifically applied to cardiovascular, musculoskeletal and platelet biology. In the role you will:

  • Establish and lead a sustainable research group generating high quality publications and demonstrable impact
  • Secure significant research income to support the work of your research group
  • Mentor postgraduate research students and postdoctoral fellows
  • Initiate research collaborations allowing novel, multi-disciplinary insights into animal and human health and disease
  • Make high quality, research-led contributions to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching within the School, including on the RCVS-accredited BVMSci veterinary degree course.

About youOur Lecturers play an important role in advancing research and innovation and influencing the future of the veterinary profession. As such, you will have:

  • A proven track record of high-quality research in the area of cellular metabolism.
  • Experience of bidding for and securing research income.
  • A proven commitment to delivery of inspiring, engaging learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
  • Enthusiasm and a willingness to work flexibly in different contexts, alongside excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Previous experience in teaching and supervision of students studying veterinary sciences or related disciplines is desirable.
