We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate History teacher to teach Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A-Level students. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge students, helping them build a deep understanding of historical events and their relevance in today’s world.As a History teacher, you will have the opportunity to shape students’ appreciation for history, fostering their curiosity and helping them develop skills that will support them in their academic journey and beyond. You will be expected to contribute to the development of the curriculum, encourage a love of the subject, and support extra-curricular activities that promote historical exploration.Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach History at KS3, GCSE, and A-Level, ensuring lessons are engaging and challenging for students of all abilities
  • Develop and deliver a dynamic curriculum that sparks interest in historical topics and encourages critical thinking
  • Monitor students’ progress and provide feedback to support their academic and personal development
  • Work collaboratively with the Humanities department to share best practices, resources, and ideas
  • Contribute to the wider school community, including organizing and supporting trips, clubs, and enrichment activities
  • Attend and participate in departmental meetings, parents’ evenings, and professional development sessions

Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • A qualified History teacher with a proven track record of teaching at KS3 and GCSE, with A-Level teaching experience highly desirable
  • A deep passion for History and the ability to inspire students to think critically about the subject
  • Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and engage with students
  • A commitment to professional growth and development
  • A valid DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) or the willingness to apply for one
