The Trust is seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant Gastroenterologist to continue the development of the Gastroenterology and Endoscopy services at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post is offered on a 12 month fixed term basis.Applications from individuals with a specialist interest in any area of Gastroenterology would be welcomedApplicants must have full registration with the GMC including a License to Practice.The posts are offered on a full-time basis however, the Trust would welcome discussion with individuals looking for a more flexible working pattern to support a different work life balance.Main duties of the jobThe post is offered at 10 PA but under the terms of the 2003 Consultant Contract, candidates who wish to conduct private practice would be required to offer an additional programmed activity.The 10 PA job plan is split into 9 PAs of Direct Clinical Care and 1 PA of Supporting Professional Activity per week as follows:9 PAs for Direct Clinical Care (DCC) including outpatient clinics, endoscopy and admin 1 PA for SPA including one core SPA is for private continuing professional development, appraisal and personal KPIs.Each Consultant will participate in a rolling rota. Week 1 will be the Consultant of the Week (COW) which will have no elective commitments but will have 7 PAs of DCC for ward rounds and non-elective referrals (upper GI Bleed and inpatient) 2 PA for admin and 1 SPA. Weeks 2 & 3 include fixed sessions for ward rounds, endoscopy and clinics. Weeks 4 – 16 are not ward based and therefore have fixed sessions for clinics and endoscopy only.About usMid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of hospital and community services for people across East Cheshire (population 399K) and West Cheshire and Chester (population 357K). - Full GMC registration and LTP
- MBBS or equivalent

- Subspecialist training e.g. IBD/Hepatology
