Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Secondary School in Hillingdon
Location: Hillingdon, London
Position: Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: January 2025We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant secondary school in Hillingdon. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and passionate individual to make a real difference in the lives of students by providing additional support to both teachers and pupils in a diverse, inclusive environment.Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality support in the classroom, assisting teachers in the delivery of lessons across a range of subjects.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group interventions for students who need additional help with their learning.
  • Work closely with students to support their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Plan and deliver interventions and catch-up sessions for students with additional learning needs or gaps in their knowledge.
  • Assist in the preparation of lesson resources and help with classroom management.
  • Support students during assessments and exams, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents where necessary.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working as an HLTA or in a similar role within a secondary school setting.
  • A Level 4 qualification or equivalent in education (HLTA qualification preferred).
  • Strong understanding of the secondary curriculum and how to support students in their learning.
  • Experience supporting students with additional learning needs or SEN, including social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive, patient, and flexible approach, with a genuine passion for helping students achieve their potential.
