The post-holder will join a large multi-disciplinary team and be expected to work with the team to provide comprehensive care to patients with severe asthma.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will have a commitment to be available for 10 programmed activities each week. These will include approximately 5 fixed programmed clinical activities each week including the severe Asthma MDM, severe and general asthma clinics.Administrative duties will include supporting the New Patient assessment pathway, local database analysis and data entry for the national Registry, and activities supporting asthma research studies.The post-holder will be expected to participate in local audits / service evaluations and research projects leading to presentation of Abstracts at national meetings with potential for contributing to research papers.Working for our organisationThe Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s biggest and most innovative trusts.   • Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values.

Education & professional QualificationsEssential criteria

  • GMC Registration of adequate duration
  • MBBS or equivalent
  • MRCP or equivalent.

Desirable criteria

  • Postgraduate MA/MSc/MD/PhD.

ExperienceEssential criteria

  • Wide experience of general and respiratory medicine at SHO level.
  • Computer skills & IT literacy.

Desirable criteria

  • Wide experience of general and respiratory medicine at Registrar level.
  • Appropriate skills at this point of career/Special interest in severe asthma.

Skills and aptitudesEssential criteria

  • Awareness of the importance and relevance of audit and evidence of recent participation.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience in leading departmental/Trust-wide audits.
