Works with key persons at Hospital level to ensure quality and safety of Women and Infants’ Services within the Dublin and Midland region. Has responsibility and accountability for the introduction and implementation of Quality and Patient Safety measures to align the maternity services with the National Maternity Strategy and Standards. Provide relevant recommendations and reports to the Chief Clinical Director & Clinical Director for Quality and Patient Safety, HSE Dublin Midlands relating to Women and Infants’ Services, Dublin and Midlands health region.Essential criteriaPossess the following as relevant to the role:1. An academic award in Healthcare Management or Quality in Healthcare at level 7 (or higher) on the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) framework or equivalentOR2. A professional qualification in a health related areaAND3. Significant experience of working in the health services in a post that has involved risk management, incident management and investigations as relevant to this role.4. Significant experience of working at a senior level with multiple stakeholders in leading quality and safety improvement.5. Experience of leading on the implementation of corporate policies, procedures and guidelines in the areas of quality, risk and patient safety.6. The requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.Desirable criteriaA midwifery qualification is desirableHealthA candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.CharacterEach candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
