About us:King’s Business School is the ninth and newest faculty at King’s College London, The School seeks to recruit a Professor of Economics to add significantly to the Economics Department’s research and teaching capacity and take a leading role in promoting the visibility of Economics at King’s. We are looking for a distinguished scholar who already has an outstanding international profile in the field of economics. We are part of an internationally renowned university with a track-record of pioneering thinking. We welcome candidates in any sub discipline of economics.The Economics Department has expanded rapidly in recent years and have hired some aspiring young staff who are publishing in the top journals. The group would like to hire a senior person who can provide mentorship and be a role model for these staff, as well as raising the profile of the department.About the role:The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to high quality research and will be able to contribute excellent teaching to the development of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You should hold a PhD in a relevant field, have a high-quality track record of publications in leading refereed journals and in securing research income.This is a full-time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.About you:To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:Essential criteria * Significant evidence of world-class standing in the discipline of economics and an exceptional track-record of publishing in top-tier journals

  • Significant experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and significant experience of innovation in teaching and curriculum design
  • Significant experience of carrying out academic administration
  • Significant evidence of participation in, and leadership of external networks (conference papers, workshops, memberships)
  • Demonstrable evidence of developing and leading research projects and of grant capture
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues in the group, the wider Business School and the College, and to mentor junior colleagues
