Ni jaansinaanik Child and Family Services is a provincially designated Child Well-Being
Agency that provides Prevention, Protection and Child and Family services that reflect
values, beliefs and principles rooted within the Anishinabek culture. We serve the
communities of Wahnapitae, Dokis, Henvey Inlet, Magnetawan, Shawanaga, and
Wasauksing First Nations
CHILDREN’S SERVICES WORKER
12 Month Contract (Ful Time)
Competition # 09-0002
Under the direction of the Children’s Services Supervisor, the Children’s Services Worker is responsible for
providing quality service to children in care. The Children’s Services Worker wil ensure all Legislative, Ministry
and Agency policies and procedures, and regulations respective to the Child in Care are met. The Children’s
Services Worker wil prepare plans of care with the goals of permanence and stability. The Worker wil work
closely with Alternative Care and Customary Care parents, other care providers, Agency staff, community
service agencies, and community professionals to ensure the needs of the child in care are met.
Salary: $96,810.00 to $117,784.00
Total Compensation Package Includes: Annual Vacation leave, Sick Time compensation,
OMERS Pension Plan and Health Benefits plan options to be presented, Employee
Assistance Program.
Salary above includes 5 step wage progression and final merit payment option
Qualifications
Minimum Education

  • Bachelor of Social Work Degree or bachelor’s degree in a Human Services related field

Minimum Experience

  • minimum of two (2) years relevant experience working with children and families

Knowledge Requirements

  • Knowledge of Ni jaansinaanik Child and Family Services programs and services
  • Respect for, sensitivity towards as well as knowledge and understanding of Anishinabek culture,

traditions, and the Seven Grandfather Teachings

  • Knowledge of and a high level of clinical skil s with respect to child development, family dynamics, child

abuse, and neglect

  • Knowledge of First Nation communities and structures
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Child, Youth, and Family Services Act
  • Excellent computer skil s and MS Of ice software

Other Requirements

  • Must provide a clear Police Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Must provide a Class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s Licence, have access to a vehicle, and have the ability to

travel

  • Must have $1M auto insurance liability coverage
  • Must provide a three-year uncertified Driver’s Abstract
