Background
- The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development form the cornerstone of the work of the UN in Indonesia, which consist of 25 Agencies, Funds and Programmes with close to 2,000 personnel in the country.
- UN in Indonesia provides policy advice, technical support and knowledge sharing on a host of development priorities, outlined in the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework in Indonesia (UNSDCF) 2021–2025, synchronized with the national mid-term development plan (RPJMN).
- To further increase public awareness of the UN’s work and impact in Indonesia and to increase support for its values and goal to “Leave no one behind”, the UN in Indonesia through its UN Communications Group (UNCG) wishes to engage a proficient Communications Support Assistant with the primary purpose to produce video material, working in close collaboration with the UN Information Centre
- (UNIC), the UNCG and subject matter experts across the UN in Indonesia. The main target audience of the outputs is youth.
- Under the supervision and guidance of UNIC Director, the Digital Communications Assistant will provide support on the success of UN in Indonesia’s digital media reach and performance.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Supports the production of digital content
- Provides communication support related to Events and Exhibitions
Functions / Key Results Expected
Supports the production of digital content, focusing on achievements with the following:
- Assists in the coordination and drafting of creative and innovative information materials on topics based on the UNCG work plan and the priorities of the various agencies.
- Drafts web articles and social media posts.
- Assists in the preparation of monthly communication plans based on the UN in Indonesia communication strategy and the annual workplan.
Provides communication support to Events and Exhibitions and other UN activities, focusing on the achievement of the following:
- Supports the development of concept notes for participation in events and exhibitions.
- Compiles a range of publications and other materials from UN agencies for exhibitions.
- Develops visuals for exhibitions that attracted public interest.
- Works with diverse UN teams to align messaging and to ensure all stakeholders are represented. · Acts as the MC/host at events
Impact of Results
- The duties performed by the Digital Communications Assistant have a direct impact on the success of UN in Indonesia’s digital media reach and performance.
Required Skills and Experience
Recruitment Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor degree in the field of Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related disciplines would be preferable or
- High school degree with additional 5 years of relevant experience will be given due consideration in lieu of Bachelor degree
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of for candidate with high school degree or minimum 2 years for candidate with bachelor degree of relevant in digital communication
- Experience in creating web articles and social media posts for corporate use.
- Experience in developing digital communications strategy/plan – converting key messages into concrete outputs
- Experience in developing engaging youth-oriented content that inform, inspire, and mobilize for action · Experience in working with the United Nations or international organizations is an asset
