Main purpose of job:
The successful applicant will create high-quality digital content for British High Commission Dhaka’s social media channels and official website. You will work as the primary photographer, videographer and video editor of the Press and Communications Unit of BHC Dhaka. You will help manage BHC Dhaka’s social media channels and ensure timely and accurate publication of content. You will write creative, engaging and accurate social media and web content both in Bengali and English. You will monitor social media trends and emerging topics and help generate new ideas. You will ensure all social media channels of BHC Dhaka have regular content flow.

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?
- Create and publish social media content that support the UK’s objectives in Bangladesh. Ensure content follows brand and social media guidelines.
- Produce high-quality, modern and engaging digital content to be used across social media and other digital channels. This includes (but not limited to) piece-to-camera videos and AVs (audio-visuals); high quality b-rolls; social media reels; event and documentary photos; social media static and motion graphics etc.
- Maintain social media content calendars; and provide social media reporting and analysis, and evaluation of digital campaigns in collaboration with the Digital Communications Manager.
- Work proactively with all BHC teams to help plan and implement innovative BHC digital campaigns and communication plans; provide suggestions to support the development of digital messaging, including drafting and copy editing.
- Monitor social media channels to: identify priority and emerging issues for the UK government; spot digital trends; and identify and explore new digital opportunities in Bangladesh and in the region to reach existing and new audiences.
- Manage BHC Dhaka social media channels and write professional, precise and engaging captions both in Bengali and English.
- Work as the primary photographer/videographer and photo/video editor of British High Commission Dhaka.

Level of language required: Fluent in reading, writing and speaking of both languages

Essentials on Arrival:
- Strong and proven track record of digital content creation, copywriting, content management, and social media management in a large or international organisation (minimum of 3 years’ experience required).
- Highly skilled at photography and videography, including experience using modern DSLR and or mirrorless cameras.
- Highly skilled at graphic designing and video editing, including experience using Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva or equivalent.
- Advanced knowledge of how popular social media platforms (such as Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram etc) function and the ability to translate the knowledge while using these platforms.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills in both English and Bengali.
- Experience in planning and evaluating social media content.

For British High Commission (BHC) candidates, the Country Based Staff Terms & Conditions will apply.
The salary will be all inclusive of BDT 103,330 per month.
The British High Commission offers a competitive remuneration package, including salary, benefits, a leave entitlement, Health Insurance and relevant L&D opportunities.
Please note – Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary may have their salaries reduced by the equivalent local income tax amount.
