Job summaryYou are invited to apply for these established Paediatric Education Fellow posts, developing an interest and experience in education and delivering a teaching programme to MBBS undergraduate students at UCL, a world class institution. The clinical component of the post will be based in General Paediatrics (including the general and adolescent in-patient wards, the paediatric emergency department and outpatient clinics).Fellows will be allocated 50% of their working time to establish skills, develop the curriculum and resources and deliver education to undergraduate UCL students. As part of the teaching team, you will develop a portfolio of paediatric teaching resources, train the clinical team in teaching techniques and support Trust-wide undergraduate teaching activities. Postgraduate teaching opportunities are also available. The post holder will be expected to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education at University College London.Main duties of the jobYou will be joining a friendly team to provide an excellent and comprehensive Paediatric and Adolescent Service within UCL Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The service was recently highly commended by the Healthy London Partnership following peer review. This post is equivalent to other general paediatric registrars including long day on-call and night shifts. Alongside work in General/Adolescent medicine, there are opportunities to develop skills and gain experience in paediatric allergy, asthma, infectious diseases, haemoglobinopathy and epilepsy, in addition to participating in clinical research and quality improvement. A weekly attending system for General paediatrics is in operation and all junior doctors are closely supervised and supported.We are passionate about providing excellent clinical care alongside the best training opportunities.
