An award-winning Foundation that is renowned for creating opportunities to help enhance the lives of people in its local community through education, employment, health, and social inclusion programmes.The Club is seeking a First Team Rehabilitation Physiotherapist to design and deliver bespoke rehabilitation programmes and strategies to ensure an optimal return to full training and performance, in terms of physical performance and according to current industry guided timelines, with a research and experience enhanced approach. The candidate will collaborate with the First Team Performance Rehabilitation Coach and other MDT practitioners, to ensure seamless, progressive and motivational programme delivery is achieved, for optimal RTT and performance sustainability.JOB PURPOSETo deliver industry leading physiotherapy rehabilitation programmes of first team players in collaboration with other medical and sport science staff involved in the process, collaborating with the Performance Rehabilitation Coach to optomise RTT and sustainability of performance.
To return injured players to training (from plinth to pitch) through a seamless, progressive and motivational programme, utilising both evidence-based and experienced-based practice.
To deliver physiotherapy sessions in the treatment room, gym and on-field for injured players.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDeliver rehabilitation on a daily basis, ensuring rehabilitation programming is optimised, monitored and communicated clearly to the MDT.
Ensure consistent integration between physiotherapy and sports science staff during rehab programmes and constantly seek to improve the players’ performance capabilities, where possible.
Co-ordinate weekly rehab meetings with appropriate Medical and Performance staff.
Ensure injured players meet suitable objective markers, agreed early in the rehabilitation process with the wider medical and performance team, before return to full training.
Aim to return players to full participation in a timely manner while ensuring achievement of functional goals are fully met, through excellence in rehabilitation planning, team collaboration and skill-set optimisation within the team.
Employ exceptional post-injury aftercare to ensure players continue their athletic development – ensuring accountability for ongoing programme execution and delivery.
Strive for constant improvement in our processes and practice.
Be hands on in treatment of the fit squad around training.
Assist in match day therapy provision as required.
Drive a positive, professional and inspiring high-performance culture.PERSONAL SPECIFICATION AND EXPERIENCEEssentialBSc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree.
MSc in Sports physiotherapy, Sports medicine, Strength and Conditioning or Rehabilitation.
CSP Member.
HCPC Registered.
Experienced in sports physiotherapy within a professional football environment.
Extensive experience of rehabilitating professional football players.
Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal injuries, rehabilitation techniques, and injury prevention strategies.
Computer literate.DesirablePhD/ DProf in relevant field.
CSCS or UKSA accreditation.
FA Advanced Trauma and Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF) qualification.Person Specifications:Critical and reflective thinker.
