The Department of Biomedical Engineering is seeking to appoint a Technician to manage the teaching and research wet-laboratory facilities. The role will primarily support teaching requirements for undergraduate and post-graduate students as they undertake their core learning and research projects. Support for PhD students and research staff in biological research areas including cell, and tissue engineering, organoid and related areas will also be a key area of activity. In particular working with PhD students and staff to support wet-lab requirements for research projects, including support for costing, planning and resource requirements will be an area of focus. In addition, the department is looking to grow its continuing professional development (CPD) offering to industry and development of course materials, and delivery related to wet-lab technologies including practical skills will be a component of the role.The Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) is a world-leading, dynamic, multidisciplinary environment known for its friendly and supportive research and teaching culture. The Department provides undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing professional development (CPD) programmes to biomedical engineers, prosthetists and orthotists, and related healthcare professionals. The completion of the £15.5M refurbishment of the Wolfson Centre in 2022 provides state-of-the-art teaching and research spaces to address key national and global health challenges over the coming decades.*NOTE: Whilst a Technician Grade 7 is ideally sought for this position, applications from candidates who have a minimum of HND/and relevant work experience or sufficient on the job experience are also welcome.
