You will be responsible for delivering engaging History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially Key Stage 5, depending on your experience.Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging History lessons in line with the National Curriculum and the school’s high academic standards.
  • Foster a love of learning and encourage students to explore historical events, figures, and periods with critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Develop and implement innovative curriculum initiatives that align with the school’s vision and the latest advancements in history education.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and challenged to reach their full potential.
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students, promoting intellectual curiosity and a passion for historical inquiry.
  • Play an active role in the department, including contributing to curriculum development, assessment strategies, and departmental meetings.
  • Participate in whole-school events and initiatives, fostering a collaborative spirit and contributing to the wider school community.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A qualified History Teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and fostering their understanding of the past.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for history, with a strong understanding of historical concepts, periods, and methodologies.
  • Strong pedagogical skills with the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
