Description
The Customer Service Representative will act as a liaison between the customer and SMP. This position requires a candidate that delivers excellent service standards and maintains high customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Input, validate, and manage customer orders received via email, EDI, customer portals, and occasionally by phone, as well as collaborate with customer accounts to communicate delivery schedules and shipments in a timely and organized manner
- Interface with buyers and production planners to achieve on-time customer delivery, communicating new and upcoming customer requirements, and facilitating expedites with buyers, suppliers, and local distribution teams when necessary
- Manage and coordinate customer orders shipping directly supplier-to-customer
- Process heavy email flow and maintain a clean, organized inbox
- Process returns, credits, debits, and denials
- Provide customs documentation for international shipments
Qualifications/Skills/ Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Customer Service
- Knowledge of MRP and Supply Chain systems preferred
- Proficient in PC business applications: Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be capable of using AS/400 based system. J.D. Edwards experience is a plus
- Ability to multi-task and perform tasks which are highly analytical in nature
- High degree of accuracy with numerical data entry
- Candidate must be team oriented and self-motivated with a stellar attendance record
- Experience with EDI based systems a plus
- Bachelor’s degree a plus
