About the RolePostdoctoral Research Assistant to join Dr Gallipoli’s team (https://www.bartscancer.london/staff/dr-paolo-gallipoli/). We study the biological mechanisms underpinning myeloid leukaemia development, progression and therapy resistance with a strong focus on the role of metabolism (Dembitz, Leukemia 2024;Woodley, Nature Communication 2023&Gallipoli, Blood 2018). The successful applicant will investigate how microenvironmental and organismal metabolism affects leukemia cell intrinsic targetable dependencies with the aim to improve current therapeutics efficacy.Informal enquiries are highly encouraged.About YouWe are seeking highly-motivated researchers holding or near completion of a PhD in a relevant biological or life sciences subject. The ability to develop independent insights into the project, solve complex problems and willingness to work flexibly within a team to achieve the project demands are needed. Experience with flow cytometry, primary cell culture, molecular biology, animal work, metabolic/transcriptional profiling is highly desirable.About InstituteThe Barts Cancer Institute (BCI) is a Cancer Research UK Centre of Excellence whose work aims to transform the lives of those with and at risk of cancer through innovative research in the laboratory, in patients and in populations.
