Position description

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a renowned international affairs institution, seeks a Program Manager for its Washington-based Russia and Eurasia Program. Carnegie’s Russia and Eurasia Program focuses on the political, military, security, and societal trends in and U.S. policy toward Russia, Ukraine, and other parts of post-Soviet Eurasia.

The Program Manager will work directly with the Director of the Russia and Eurasia Program and Vice President for Studies to oversee the administrative, development, and financial functions of the program, while collaborating closely with colleagues at the Carnegie Russia and Eurasia Center in Berlin, as well as with Carnegie’s finance, development, and communications departments. Responsibilities of the Program Manager for the Russia Eurasia Program will include budgeting and financial oversight, strategic planning; program management; grant writing and grant management; coordinating across other programs and departments; drafting and reviewing communications to funders and supporters; and events planning.

The position requires an undergraduate degree in political science, regional studies, or international relations, or a similar related discipline, and approximately 5 years of work experience in program administration or management. Knowledge of Russian is a plus but not necessary. The selected candidate will have a demonstrated track record of excellent program management, including project development, budget management, proposal development, and grant writing and reporting.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of program management, writing skills, financial planning and budgeting. The individual should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and should bring a demonstrated solid track record of management skills to the role.

This position will be based in Dupont Circle, Washington D.C. The anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000 – $80,000. Please apply via the Carnegie Endowment website.
