The Intelligence Analyst (IA) within Global Workplace Services (GWS) will specialize in the collection, analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of security risk intelligence information in support of the Protective Intelligence program. Areas of analysis include, but are not limited to crime, political, economic, social, cultural, health, and environmental factors impacting security risk to Capital One executives, associates, and business interests.
Responsibilities
- Provide near real time intelligence support to threat assessment and executive protection operations
- Analyze collected information to assess the credibility, likelihood, and potential impact of threats and produce timely and accurate intelligence reports and briefings for the Executive Protection team and relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for executive travel, events, and residences.
- Participate in security planning meetings and contribute to the development of security strategies.
- Contribute to the production of all intelligence products including tactical alerts, strategic reports and investigation support
- Integrate within a continuous monitoring operation, passing on critical information as warranted
- Assist with special due diligence cases and other open source investigations/research including threat management investigations and criminal background screening
- Monitor geopolitical events of concern that might impact international travel, corporate events, and/or operations, and provide periodic and timely and accurate reporting
- Interact with other members of the intelligence community to share information, benchmark threat mitigation practices and forge professional relationships
- Review intelligence sources and analytical tradecraft, suggesting program improvement recommendations as appropriate
- Assist other analysts in maintaining monitoring calendars, dashboards and other tools of the operation
Skills
- High level of skill in OSINT techniques including social media and online investigation sources and methodologies
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Ability to develop and draft tactical and strategic intelligence publications with minimal oversight and editing
- Ability to develop strong working relationship with all levels of management
- Experience with security operation centers including the training of SOC personnel in intelligence analysis
- Familiarity with administration of travel security programs including expertise in technologies and data sources
- Ability to make decisions, while under stress, that provides for the safety and security of the Capital One associates, visitors and assets
- Ability to develop and maintain liaison with the intelligence community at Federal, State, County, and Municipal levels
- Ability to organize and present accurate information in a logical sequence in support of decisioning
- Ability to work, and respond to emergencies, during non-traditional hours (e.g. nights, weekends, and holidays)
- Ability to develop dynamic publications and reports
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or military experience
- At least 3 years of experience in intelligence gathering, intelligence database search tools, intelligence analysis, or a combination of the three
- At least 3 years of experience with open source intelligence (OSINT) data collection, data mining, investigative techniques and methodologies or a combination of the three
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Intelligence Analysis, Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, or Bachelor’s Degree in Homeland Security
- At least 3 years of experience in the private sector
- At least 5 years of experience in the collection and analysis of threat intelligence
- At least 2 years of experience in intelligence collection and analysis in support of executive protection activities
- At least 2 years of experience delivering threat / risk assessments, travel advisories, or other written and verbal intelligence products to an executive audience
- Experience in investigations, threat management, or workplace violence
