Location: Stirling CampusContract type: Open EndedThe PostWe are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic lecturer who has teaching and supervision experience in sport coaching.The successful applicant will work with existing Faculty groups to deliver excellence in teaching to our programmes. They will contribute to our BA Sport Development and Coaching programme and help build on our success to deliver the University’s strategic plan. The post is available on a Teaching and Scholarship (T&S) basis.The successful candidate will have relevant subject knowledge and expertise and ideally a recognised teaching qualification.Description of duties

  • Design, deliver, assess and evaluate a range of teaching and learning, supervision and assessment activities across undergraduate, postgraduate including online/digital programmes, where required
  • Contribute to curriculum review and enhancement, in a manner that supports student learning and is underpinned by evidence based scholarly activity
  • Enhance the quality of teaching provision and programme development, drawing on leading practices from the HE sector
  • Develop and apply new, effective and appropriate teaching and learning techniques and material, which create interest, understanding and enthusiasm amongst students
  • Contribute to enhancement of the student experience and employability

Essential CriteriaQualifications

  • PhD in relevant discipline or equivalent professional and/or teaching experience
  • Higher Education teaching qualification or equivalent. PGCert and/or holding or working towards Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy (HEA)

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Experience of designing and delivering excellent learning activities and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level preferably including online/digital programmes
  • Evidence of developing effective learning environments and approaches to student support and guidance
  • Experience or knowledge of approaches to enhance the student experience
  • Evidence of engaging in networks, locally, nationally and internationally
