Woodland / Horticultural Operative x2

Wild by Design

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Woodland/Horticultural Operative to join our passionate and
experienced team. This diverse role will see you involved in a variety of projects, from
woodland and estate management to environmental restoration and outdoor craftsmanship. No two
days are the same, and your work will make a tangible impact on the landscapes we help nurture.
As this is a new area of the business, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the role, drive
future projects, and establish best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with woodland and estate management, including tree work, forestry, and vegetation
    management
  • Take part in creating wildflower meadows, installing ponds, planting trees, and other
    landscaping activities
  • Support the creation of bespoke woodland furniture and participate in woodland crafts
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, ensuring the highest standards of safety and
    environmental care
  • Collaborate with the team while also being able to work independently
  • Continuously learn and develop your skills in woodland management, horticulture, and
    conservation

What We’re Looking For:

We value passion for the environment just as much as experience. If you’re a hard worker with a
love for the outdoors and a willingness to learn, we want to hear from you! Key attributes
we’re looking for include:

  • A strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
  • The ability to thrive in a team or work independently with minimal supervision
  • Physical fitness and the stamina to handle the physical demands of the role
  • A willingness to adapt to changing conditions and technologies
  • A passion for learning and professional development

Desirable Experience & Qualifications (not essential):

While prior experience is an advantage, it’s not essential. We’re happy to support the right
candidate in gaining relevant skills and certifications. However, the following would be
beneficial:

  • Understanding of Woodland Flora and Fauna
  • Certification or training in arboriculture, forestry, or a related field
  • Previous practical experience in agriculture, forestry, or horticulture
  • Experience operating chainsaws or other tree care tools
  • Knowledge of habitat management and sustainability practices
  • Interest or experience in woodland crafts and environmental conservation
  • Full UK driving license (preferred)

If you’re looking for a rewarding career that combines hands-on work with a genuine passion for
the environment, we’d love to hear from you.
