Position: Project Manager/EstimatorAs a Project Manager/Estimator, you will play a critical role in the success of Border Paving Ltd. Reporting to Senior Management, you will oversee the full lifecycle of project delivery, from pricing and planning to execution and monitoring. Your responsibilities will focus on ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to budgets and timelines.The ideal candidate brings excellent communication and analytical skills, a strong business acumen, and the ability to handle negotiations and disputes thoughtfully. By fostering strong relationships with clients, customers, and subcontractors, you will contribute to the success of both individual projects and our company as a whole.Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate tenders, considering market conditions, project selection, and material supply while prioritizing company interests.
- Issue and manage all contracts and subcontracts in alignment with project schedules.
- Direct and coordinate staff and subcontractors to efficiently meet project expectations and timelines.
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date job-specific documentation and ensure compliance with all requirements.
- Develop comprehensive scopes of work for subcontracts and direct reports.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
- Foster strong working relationships with clients, customers, and subcontractors to support ongoing collaboration.
- Partner with the safety department to ensure compliance with all safe work practices and procedures.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously in interactions with the public.
- Perform other duties as assigned to contribute to overall team success.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A certificate, diploma, or degree in project management, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Proficiency with B2W Estimate or similar construction estimating software is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and out-of-town assignments during the construction season (May-November).
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Preference will be given to local candidates.
