IM Hospitalist Opportunity- Multiple Locations in South-Eastern OntarioOur client is seeking internal medicine and family medicine hospitalist physicians to join a great collegial and supportive team!Hospitalists are supported by a team of health care providers that includes nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, social workers, pharmacists, respiratory technologists, personal support workers and a number of other highly-trained professionals. Physicians benefit from 24-hour support from internal medicine, intensive care, general surgery, orthopedics, urology, pediatrics, anesthesia, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, otolaryngology, and radiology. Diagnostic imaging on site includes Ultrasound, CT and MRI.IM care is provided through a unique model of care with Internal Medicine hospitalist, Family Medicine hospitalist and Nurse Practitioner lead lines running daily. All lines run simultaneously and with their own MRP. The lines all collaborate daily to ensure the best care for patients.Responsibilities include:Inpatient care on our medicine, rehab, integrated stroke, and ALC units, and call. Hospitalists will be MRP for approximately 20-25 acute patients/daily.Earnings:Hospitalist work bills approximately 15,000/week (7 days, with 2-3 calls), which includes a stipend as well as all FFS billings.Position Requirements:Fully independent registration (or eligible for) with College of Physicians andSurgeons of Ontario (CPSO)US Board Certified Physician are eligible for independent license in OntarioAdditional opportunity:Many physicians are affiliated with Queen’s University as Assistant Professors and regularly participate in resident training.There may be opportunities for emergency medicine work. There are also opportunities in the area for clinic locums, OR assist, coroners work and more.Opportunities exist to combine work with community practice in one of the local FHOs. The Family Physician Recruitment Program offers medical students up to $150,000 in return for a five-year commitment of full-time service to a community practice and hospitalist work is encouraged.Our client has 1,800 staff members and 320 medical staff who provide a wide range of high quality health care services to a region of 160,000 residents. Care is provided through four regional hospitals and includes four emergency departments, operating rooms at three sites, inpatient services (including acute medicine, intensive care, obstetrics, pediatrics, mental health, complex continuing care, rehabilitation and surgery), a rehabilitation day hospital, children’s treatment center, ambulatory care clinics, community mental health programs, and a range of diagnostic services.The hospitals are situated in south-eastern Ontario and the area includes some of the most diverse and beautiful countryside in Ontario, from lakes and the wine country.
